Adapt Receives Cambia Health Solutions Funding to Address Mental Health Needs in Rural Communities

For many people, the coronavirus pandemic can be unsettling and stressful For people with existing mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other forms of mental illness, the effects of the pandemic can be far more-reaching—making many symptoms infinitely worse. Cambia Health Solutions and its regional health plans – serving members across Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington – are making philanthropic donations totaling more than $11.5 million to help meet the urgent mental and behavioral health needs intensified by COVID-19 in local rural communities.

Adapt, an essential provider of integrated primary care, substance use treatment, and mental health care in Southern Oregon will receive $50,000 to support and expand the delivery of mental health treatment services to Douglas County residents. This funding opportunity will increase access to 24/7 support to people in crisis or emotional distress, expand Adapt’s capacity to meet current and emerging patient needs, and support work to reduce the stigma and other barriers that might prevent individuals from seeking care.

“Adapt has carried out a number of initiatives to expand access to behavioral health care for our community, including 24/7 mental health crisis counseling, expanded telehealth services, and open access/same day scheduling. “We are extremely grateful to receive such generous support from Cambia to improve care for new and existing patients at such an uncertain and challenging time,” said Greg Brigham, Ph.D., Adapt CEO.
