June 21st – 27th, 2020 – Blast! 5K
The Blast for Prevention
The Blast for Prevention is a 5K fun run/walk with Color Blasting to benefit Prevention efforts in Douglas County such as life skills education, mentoring, and positive youth development. The colors allow participants to show support for the community health issues that matter most to them:
Pink Substance Abuse Prevention Purple Suicide Prevention Yellow Recovery Blue Mental Health Promotion Green Problem Gambling Prevention
As we are fast approaching “race week” we wanted to send some reminders and additional instruction about participation to help ensure that you have a blast!
The race takes place next week, June 21st to June 28th – During this time period you can run, walk, or jog the 5k (3.1 mile) distance from anywhere you fancy! You can break the 5k up into smaller chunks throughout the week (For example, 1.33 miles on 3 different days during the race period)
Pictures are encouraged before, during, and after your participation in The Blast Virtual 5K. Upload your pictures to social media using hashtag #TheBlastforPrevention2020 (or send then via Facebook Messenger to “The Blast for Prevention”).
Thank you so much for participating in this event and supporting Adapt’s Prevention & Education program!
