Chief of Substance Use Disorder Services
Meet Tom Sorrells, a dedicated clinician and the Chief of Substance Use Disorder Services at Adapt Integrated Health Care. With a comprehensive background in both clinical practice and administrative leadership, Tom is committed to enhancing the quality and accessibility of addiction treatment services.
Tom’s career at Adapt began in 2014, initially serving as an SUD counselor in various treatment settings including courts and opioid treatment programs. His rise through the ranks includes roles as a mental health therapist and multiple administrative positions, culminating in his current role as Chief of SUD Services. Prior to Adapt, he gained valuable experience at the Veterans’ Administration Central Office in Washington, D.C.
Tom holds a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and a Master’s Degree in Social Work, both from the University of Alabama. His academic journey is complemented by his licensure as a Clinical Social Worker and extensive training in cognitive therapy and substance abuse prevention.
Tom is driven by a passion to provide compassionate and effective care to those struggling with substance use disorders. His work at Adapt allows him to implement and oversee programs that make a real difference in the community and for individuals in recovery.
As the Chief of SUD Services, Tom oversees all aspects of Adapt’s substance use disorder treatments. His responsibilities include supervising clinical personnel, ensuring compliance with best practices, and developing new services to meet the needs of vulnerable populations. Tom is dedicated to advancing Adapt’s mission through innovation in treatment practices and by enhancing the integration of behavioral health services. His vision includes expanding access to treatment and continuing to improve care delivery through evidence-based practices.
