Family Practice and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Tisha is a dual board-certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over a decade of experience in healthcare. She earned her advanced nursing degrees from Maryville University in Missouri and holds additional certifications as a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist. She is also working towards certification from the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH).
With a professional background spanning 10 years in Emergency Room and Critical Care and 5 years in Family Practice, Tisha transitioned to focus on mental health care and has been with Adapt Integrated Health Care for over 5 years. In addition to her clinical work, she serves as a preceptor for students and provides education and guidance on diagnosis and treatment for mental health counselors.
Tisha has significant experience with transgender health care, offering counseling and hormone-based pharmacological treatment. She is an active member of the Intensive In-Home Behavioral Health Treatment pediatric program, delivering the highest level of outpatient care in the community. She also contributes to the Early Assessment and Support Alliance team, providing early treatment for psychosis related to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia in young adults.
Her approach to care is rooted in the biopsychosocial model, emphasizing holistic, evidence-based treatment that integrates biological, psychological, and social factors in mental well-being. A passionate advocate for LGBTQIA+ health care, Tisha is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive environment for all her clients.
