Jonathan Russell earned his Master of Health Science and Physician Assistant Degree from Drexel University in the MCP Hahnemann program in 2007 and has been board certified by the National Commission on Certifying Physician Assistants (NCCPA) since then.
He has been actively dedicated to Family Practice and Community Health since 2008, with some time spent in the Urgent Care setting. Before moving to Southern Oregon in 2013, he practiced general medicine in Arizona. In 2021, Jonathan earned his Doctor of Medical Science degree from Lincoln Memorial University, maintaining a 4.0 GPA and graduating Summa Cum Laude. He was voted into the Alpha Chi Honor Society after graduating in the top 10% of graduate students nationwide. Mr. Russell has lived in many states and several locations around the world. He is a keen observer of cultures domestic and abroad and values goodness wherever he finds it. Jonathan has an interest in languages and communication and is trilingual in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. He has been privileged to serve as an Assistant Professor at George Fox University, precepting Physician Assistant students in the clinic. He truly enjoys teaching, mentoring, and learning from the next generation of providers. One of his greatest thrills is helping others achieve their health and wellness goals. He believes strongly that compassion and communication, along with screenings to promote healthy lifestyles, are key to disease prevention. Jonathan also finds meaning in participating in medical research. He is currently a medical investigator in a national research study on the treatment of Opioid Use Disorder. Jonathan loves the people and the landscapes of Southern Oregon. He is active in his church and serving those in the community. “When you are in the service of your fellow beings, you are only in the service of your God.” When not at work, he can be found hiking, biking, kayaking, motorcycling, and exploring the great outdoors from the mountains to the ocean with his wife Holly, their three children, and two dogs.
