Susan Hibbs is a board certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with over three decades of diverse experience in nursing and mental health. Her academic path reflects a consistent dedication to excellence, beginning with an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing from Saint Catherine’s University, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix in 2005. She advanced her clinical knowledge with a Master of Science in Nursing, awarded with High Distinction from Colorado Christian University in 2019, and most recently earned a PMHNP Postgraduate Certificate with Highest Distinction from Purdue University Global in 2023 where she was inducted into Sigma Alpha Pi, the National Society of Leadership and Success.
Susan’s professional roles span acute care, teaching, and psychiatric practice. She has served as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner specializing in adult mental health since August 2023, delivering personalized, evidence-based care. Her prior roles include over five years as a Nursing Instructor focusing on complex hospital and psychiatric conditions, and more than two decades as a Registered Nurse in recovery rooms, critical care, and developmental disability settings. Susan’s approach to care is grounded in empathy and holistic understanding. She emphasizes the importance of learning each patient’s personal history, strengths, and values in order to support their journey toward a fulfilling life.
Her clinical interests include cultural psychodynamics and trauma-informed care, underscoring her passion for respectful and culturally attuned mental health practice.
