John Herzog

Board Member

John Herzog, a former Curry County Commissioner and lifelong resident of Brookings, Oregon, brings decades of leadership, service, and community commitment to Adapt Integrated Health Care’s Board of Directors. A true local steward, John has dedicated his life to hard work and helping others – values that define both his personal and professional journey.

John began his career at South Coast Lumber, where he quickly advanced from mill work to the carpenter crew, learning the building trades and developing the discipline and craftsmanship that would carry through his career. He went on to spend 30 years with UPS as both a driver and manager at the Brookings Center, retiring in 2012. Retirement, however, was short-lived – his heart for service led him to manage Jerstad Manor, a HUD senior housing community, where he and his wife cared deeply for the residents and built lasting relationships.

In 2020, John was elected as a Curry County Commissioner, fulfilling a long-held desire to serve his community in public office. His work has deepened his understanding of local needs and strengthened his advocacy for accessible, compassionate care across rural communities.

John’s connection to Adapt’s mission is personal. Through his family and community work, he has witnessed the challenges faced by individuals living with mental illness and addiction. His perspective as both a public servant and a parent informs his dedication to supporting programs that bring hope, dignity, and opportunity to those most in need.
