Mental Health Therapist
Donald Schaefer is a Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate) with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University (MS). He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (BS) from the University of Florida and an Associate’s degree in Psychology (AS) from Daytona Beach Community College.
Donald’s therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that every individual has the capacity for meaningful change within themselves. His role as a therapist is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can process life events, develop coping tools for triggers, and engage in unbiased problem-solving. Viewing counseling as a collaborative process, he integrates evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), tailoring his methods to meet the unique needs of each client.
Donald aims to train in both in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), working closely with clients to identify their strengths and achieve their goals. He believes in fostering a therapeutic relationship built on clear boundaries, mutual respect, and a shared willingness to take risks and explore new strategies for growth.
