Marcy Dean, MSN, FNP-C, BC-ADM

Nurse Practitioner

Marcy Dean earned her Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and was certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board in August 2016. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, she earned her nursing degree in 2000 graduating Cum Laude as a member of the National Honor Society Phi Theta Kappa at Palomar College in California. She was a floor RN and eventually an Assistant Nurse Manager on a critical care unit in southern California after graduation. She earned her Critical Care Registered Nurse certification in 2009.
After graduating from UAB she and her husband moved from San Diego to Roseburg in 2016 to accept her position as a primary care provider with Adapt. While it was a difficult decision to leave sunny California where she and her husband lived aboard a boat in the San Diego Bay, they were excited and honored to come to the “Banana Belt of Oregon”, the Umpqua Valley with its beautiful trees, rivers and welcoming people. She has loved being a primary care provider here since 2016, first at Winston and currently at our Madrone location in Roseburg. Marcy loves patient education and became certified in 2021 through the Association of Diabetes Care & Education Specialists (ADCES) in Advanced Diabetes Management. She is currently the Program Coordinator and a Lifestyle Coach for Adapt’s CDC-approved Diabetes Prevention Program for patients at risk for developing diabetes. She looks forward to being involved in bringing other wellness-focused opportunities for our patient community.
In her free time she enjoys catching up with her four grown children, two grandchildren and three dogs. When they aren’t on the golf course, she and her husband of 40 years travel extensively to enjoy other cultures, practice learning new languages and try new experiences abroad. Marcy has a passion for wellness and encouraging others to stay active, stay socially connected, and provide service to others to live their most meaningful life.
