Family Nurse Practitioner
Suzanne’s life and experiences growing up in Roseburg and raising a family in Southern Douglas County inspired her to pursue a career in healthcare as a way of giving back to my community. She has a background in Nuclear Medicine Imaging Technology from Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT) and Nursing from Umpqua Community College and Oregon Health and Science University (UCC, OHSU).
As an RN for 5 years, Suzanne has experience in the Progressive Care Unit at Mercy, VA Home Telehealth, in-home care and the Community Cancer Center. She often saw patients with end-stage chronic disease and became a Nurse Practitioner because she wanted to make a difference in the health of her patients. She has been a FNP for 7 years and continues to be fascinated by the art and science of medicine and nursing.
She seeks a better understanding of health and the cause of disease. Patient care should be holistic and compassionate with an emphasis on educating while building a strong therapeutic relationship that is built on trust and evidence-based practice. Her role is to provide the necessary education, resources and motivation so that patients and families can be successful in reaching their health goals.
In the middle of every difficulty lies opportunity.
