Curry Behavioral Health Advisory Committee

The Behavioral Health Advisory Committee (BHAC) is a standing subcommittee of Adapt Integrated Health Care’s Board of Directors. As part of Adapt’s role as the Local Mental Health Authority (LMHA) for Curry County, the BHAC serves as a vital community voice, helping ensure behavioral health services reflect the needs and experiences of the local community.

The BHAC collaborates with local providers, community members, and intersecting systems—such as criminal justice, education, healthcare, and government—to support the development of equitable, trauma-informed, and peer-supported services.

Our Role

The BHAC exists to:

  • Offer input and guidance on current and future behavioral health services in Curry County.
  • Support and advise Adapt on implementation of the Community Health Assessment (CHA) and Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP).
  • Ensure the committee includes a majority of members with lived experience in behavioral health—either directly or through family support.

Membership

Members are selected by Adapt to reflect the diverse perspectives of Curry County’s population and service systems. Membership is open to individuals who:

  • Represent a range of community systems and geographic regions.
  • Reflect racial, cultural, and ethnic diversity.
  • Are not listed on any Medicare/Medicaid (CMS) exclusion lists.

Committee officers are nominated and elected by members, in alignment with official BHAC bylaws.
