Meet Cherie Barnstable, LCSW, the dedicated Chief of Community Mental Health Services for Douglas and Curry Counties at Adapt Integrated Health Care. With a robust background in mental health services, Cherie brings comprehensive expertise to her role, enhancing the mental and emotional health support across the communities.
Cherie has been instrumental at Adapt since May 2018, leading a wide range of psychiatric and behavioral health care services. Her previous roles include Program Director of Community Support Services at Compass Behavioral Health and Community Health Alliance, and ACT Lead Mental Health Specialist III at Douglas County Mental Health, where she honed her skills in community mental health support.
Cherie earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from California State University-San Bernardino and her Bachelor of Science in Social/Behavioral Science from California Baptist University. Her academic and professional training equip her with the insights and skills necessary for leading community-based mental health programs effectively.
Driven by a passion to support and enhance community mental health, Cherie joined Adapt to leverage her expertise in providing essential services to children, adolescents, adults, and families, including crisis care and comprehensive outpatient support.
As the Chief of Community Mental Health Services, Cherie oversees all mental health programs for Douglas and Curry counties. Her responsibilities include managing 24-hour crisis care, mobile crisis teams, early assessment and diagnosis, psychiatric medical services, and outpatient care, ensuring high-quality mental health support is accessible across the community. Cherie is committed to enhancing the scope and quality of mental health services provided by Adapt. Her vision focuses on expanding these services to meet the growing needs of the community, ensuring comprehensive support and care for all age groups and demographics.
