Dr. Deric V. Ravsten is a Diplomate in Psychiatry with the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN). He earned his bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University and completed medical school at Des Moines University in Iowa, followed by a Psychiatry Residency at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Ravsten brings extensive experience in treating patients across the lifespan, including child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. Prior to joining Adapt, he operated an interdisciplinary psychiatric practice in Pocatello, Idaho, and served as Medical Director for residential programs supporting adolescents and adults with substance use disorders. His career spans nearly three decades, with a focus on supporting individuals with serious and persistent mental illness through Assertive Community Treatment, long-acting therapy services, and specialized care within a clozapine clinic. Dr. Ravsten has also served as a psychiatric consultant to primary care clinics, university health centers, community health centers, and the Indian Health Service.

His clinical expertise includes both individual and group therapies, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Reconstructive Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Lifestyle Medicine. Additionally, he has specialized experience in medication management for various mental health conditions, such as psychotic, mood, anxiety, trauma, eating, sleep, personality, developmental, and impulse control disorders. He is trained in repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy. Dr. Ravsten is a dedicated educator and has taught and supervised physician assistant, nurse practitioner and medical students, master’s and PhD interns, as well as family medicine and psychiatric residents.

Dr. Ravsten’s clinical interests include integrative and lifestyle medicine approaches, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, and psychotherapy supported by intranasal ketamine. He approaches each patient’s care with the goal of healing, recovery, and growth for optimal mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health.
