Community Listening Event – Responding to Community Loss

Adapt Integrated Health Care, Line for Life, the Oregon Family Support Network, and Douglas Education Service District (ESD) invite community members to a crucial “Community Listening Event.” It will take place on May 23rd from 6-8pm at the Roseburg Library in the Ford Family Room located at 1409 NE Diamond Lake Blvd, Roseburg, OR 97470.

The event will feature a keynote presentation focused on helping individuals navigate through grief and loss, understanding the signs and symptoms of suicide, and how to effectively communicate with family and friends about suicide. This event is directly pursuant to the loss of recent community members to completed suicide.

We’re pleased to have the Oregon Family Support Network onboard, offering support during the event. The keynote presentation will be delivered by a representative from the Dougy Center, a renowned organization that provides support in times of grief and loss (https://www.dougy.org/).

In addition to these supports, we will also provide safe storage materials, including gun safes and medication lock boxes, to community members.

Residents are not required to RSVP for this event. However, residents who wish to set up or download a calendar reminder can do so here: https://fb.me/e/2SL0AbFs5

We would like to remind community members about the available resources and services designed to provide support, prevent suicide, and promote mental health and well-being.
