Mental Health Support Available

Wildfires in Douglas County and statewide are creating stress and concern for many people and communities. Compass Behavioral Health continues to offer routine and crisis mental health support via walk-in, phone and telehealth services and supports for those who may be experiencing Emotional Distress. “Emotional distress is often experienced prior to, during and after a natural disaster, and can impact an individual’s overall wellbeing,” said Cherie Barnstable, Compass Behavioral Health Clinical Director.

Emotional distress symptoms can be heightened during evacuations due to the uncertainty of being displaced, loss of home and belongings and concerns about the safety of loved ones. Signs of emotional distress include:

  • Feelings of being overwhelmed, confused, anxious, angry or fearful
  • Inability to sleep or eat
  • Increased symptoms for those with a pre-existing mental health condition

If you or a loved one is experiencing signs of emotional distress, please reach out to Compass Behavioral Health by phone or in person. Compass is located at 621 W. Madrone in Roseburg.
