Suicide Prevention

National Suicide Prevention LifeLine (Español)

The 988 Lifeline, funded by SAMHSA and run by Vibrant Emotional Health, is your immediate connection to trained counselors for free, confidential emotional support and crisis counseling.

Previously accessed via a 10-digit number (1-800-273-8255), the Lifeline shifted to the easy-to-remember three-digit code, 988, in July 2022.

By calling, texting, or chatting 988, you reach one of over 200 local crisis centers in the Lifeline’s network, providing 24/7 assistance across the U.S.
